The wedding of Pamela Matthews and Rory Paterson
THE COUPLE: Pamela is 27 and works as a sign maker in Grangemouth, and Rory (35) is also a sign maker who is based in Alloa. The newlyweds live in Falkirk.
HOW THEY MET: Pamela and Rory first met 12 years ago in Pennies.
THE PROPOSAL: Romantic Pamela popped the question on February 22, 2012. She made lots of cupcakes and spelled out ‘will you marry me?’ on them. Pamela had wanted to propose on a leap year but decided to catch Rory off guard by doing it before February 29.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on September 13 at Beecraigs Country Park. After tying the knot in front of 60 guests in the restaurant, the couple enjoyed a go on the flying fox and a rope climbing frame to create some memorable wedding photographs. Over 100 friends and family celebrated with the couple at night.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Pamela’s sisters Kirsty and Emma Matthews were the bridesmaids, while the best man was Rory’s childhood friend Andrew Seatter. The usher was friend Gareth Howells. The flower girl was Alana McEwan (8), Pamela’s niece, and Pamela’s brother, Kyle Matthews (9) was the page boy.
THE DRESS: Pamela wore an ivory dress which was fitted at the top and featured a full tulle skirt.
THE HONEYMOON: Pamela and Rory have been busy decorating their new house, but want to try to get away on holiday in the summer.
THANKS: Special thanks go to both sets of parents, Pat and Billy Paterson and Selina and Richard Matthews, humanist Peter MacDonald, Emma Gray, Olivia Cameron, Glisten and everyone who made the day what it was.
