HOW THEY MET: The couple met in Falkirk through friends five-and-half years ago.
THE PROPOSAL: Michelle and Andrew got engaged in May 2011 while they were in New York. The family had gone to the Big Apple to celebrate Michelle’s mum’s 50th birthday. Michelle was very surprised but delighted to accept.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on November 9, 2013 at Orocco Pier in South Queensferry. There were around 42 guests for the wedding service and a total of 110 friends and family in the evening. Michelle said it was a fanastic day, and that she loved the lime green wellies she wore on the beach.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Michelle’s ‘bridesman’ was her younger brother Nicholas and Andrew’s best woman was his younger sister Rebecca Short. There were also two flower girls – Niamh Golden (6) and four-year-old Christie Anderson.
THE DRESS: Michelle described her dress as “very big”. The gown was purchased at CKS Bridal in Falkirk and featured a tulle skirt and a bodice with crystal detail. Michelle added: “It was really big, no-one could get near me.”
THE HONEYMOON: The newlyweds spent a fantastic two weeks in Cuba.
THANKS: Special thanks go to both sets of parents, Shirleyann and John Anderson and Cathy and Bob Short, for all their help and support.
