The wedding of Louise MacDonald and Stephen Burgoyne
THE COUPLE: Louise (25) is from Bonnybridge and is a medical receptionist. Stephen (23) is an electrical engineer from Hallglen and the couple live in Bonnybridge.
HOW THEY MET: The couple went to St Mungo’s together and met again on a night out in 2008.
THE PROPOSAL: Stephen popped the question in front of the clock at Cumbernauld Shopping Centre after buying the ring. He had hidden a tape recorder to play Coldplay’s ‘Yellow’ as he got down on one knee. Louise said: “Luckily there was no one around, I was so embarrassed but it was a lovely proposal.”
THE WEDDING: The couple were married on April 25, 2014 at St Alexander’s in Denny followed by a reception at The Three Kings. The day was perfect and the service provided at the venue was faultless.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Best man was Stephen’s brother Lee and man of honour was Louise’s brother Chris. Louise’s cousin Audrey Moodie and best friend Jennifer Hughes were bridesmaids and nephew Lewis Burgoyne was pageboy. Louise’s goddaughter Rebecca Davidson was flower girl.
THE DRESS: To tie in with the wedding’s vintage theme, Louise opted for a 1950s style wedding dress with a cowl neck and sleeves. The bride said: “It was a really unusual dress but I don’t think anyone was surprised, I’m a quirky dresser so everyone knew I wouldn’t go for a traditional style.”
THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent five days taking in the sights in Prague following their nuptials.
THANKS: The couple wish to thank both sets of parents - Mary and Stewart MacDonald and Michelle and Danny Devine - for all their help with the wedding.
