The wedding of Keighley Beaton and David Thomson
THE COUPLE: Keighley (25) is a hairdresser from Slamannan while David (28), from Bonnybridge, works for a civil engineering firm. The couple live in Falkirk with their cat Tiffany.
HOW THEY MET: They both went to T in the Park with mutual friends in 2010 and got together at the festival with David plucking up the courage to ask Keighley out on a date on the journey home.
THE PROPOSAL: David proposed to a very surprised Keighley on New Year’s Eve 2011 after a romantic meal at home. Afterwards they joined up with friends to bring in the New Year and shared their good news.
THE WEDDING: Keighley and David were married on June 1, 2013 at Solsgrith House near Dollar. The day was absolutely perfect and even the unpredictable Scottish weather was kind, allowing the guests to make use of the venue’s beautiful gardens. Keighley said: “It was genuinely the best day of our lives.”
THE WEDDING PARTY: Bridesmaids were Keighley’s sister Kirsty Ure and cousin Hayley Clelland with David’s sister Charli-Jo the flowergirl. David’s best friend Billy Kay was the best man with Craig Morrison, Scott Christie and Derek Bryson the ushers.
THE DRESS: Keighley wore a stunning lace dress with a sweetheart neckline from Bijoux Bridal Boutique in Hamilton and David wore a custom-made Harris Tweed suit from Kiltpin.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent a week in Las Vegas and then travelled to the Carribbean coast of Mexico for two weeks of utter relaxation in a five-star hotel.
THANKS: The couple wish to thank all their family and friends for their help in the lead up to their big day and to everyone who shared it with them.
