The wedding of Gemma Renwick and Richard Devlin

THE COUPLE: Gemma is 33, from Stenhousemuir, and works for Clydesdale Bank, while Richard (35) is from Aberfeldy, and works as a retail manager in Stirling. The newlyweds live in Larbert.

HOW THEY MET: The couple met through the social networking site Bebo in 2008.

THE PROPOSAL: Richard popped the question on Christmas Day, 2011. He told Gemma there was an extra present for her in the Christmas tree and she then found her engagement ring. Gemma said it was a “massive surprise”.

THE WEDDING: The wedding took place on March 2, at The Falkirk Wheel. The couple married in the visitors centre in front of 80 guests and celebrated with 130 friends and family in the evening. Gemma said the day was beautiful and perfect, and that the weather was glorious.

THE WEDDING PARTY: Gemma’s best friend Heather McCabe was a bridesmaid alongside Gemma’s daughter Abby Renwick (10) and Gemma’s cousin Jennifer Silcock. The flower girls were Gemma’s youngest daughter Daisy Devlin (3), and three-year-old Sophie Cowan. The best men were Richard’s best friend Nick Wain and Richard’s younger brother J-J Devlin. The page boys were Jack (7) and Argyll MacDonald (5).

THE DRESS: Gemma wore a Mori Lee ivory gown. It was strapless, with a sweetheart neckline and organza ruffles in the skirt.

THE HONEYMOON: The newlyweds spent a few days together at Seamill Hydro, but are planning a bigger holiday later in the year.

THANKS: Special thanks go to family and friends who were there on the day, and to the “fantastic” staff at The Falkirk Wheel.
