The wedding of Fiona Hainan and Scott Hannah
THE COUPLE: Fiona (26) is a sales manager with the Clydesdale Bank and is from Clydebank, while Scott (28), originally from Shieldhill, is a firefighter based in Maryhill Fire Station. The couple now live in Old Kilpatrick.
HOW THEY MET: They were set up by mutual friends, Paul and Laura Cairney, in 2012.
THE PROPOSAL: During a break in Paris last October, Scott took Fiona to Pont des Arts – or Love Lock Bridge as it’s known – where Scott produced a padlock with ‘Marry Me?’ engraved on the back. Fiona was totally shocked, but accepted the ring Scott had packed with him. Fiona said: “I thought he was messing about, when I realised he was proposing I couldn’t stop shaking!”
THE WEDDING: The couple were married at The Inchyra Grange Hotel in Polmont on August 1, 2014. The day was perfect and even the weather managed to be kind for their big day.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Maid of honour was Jennifer McIntyre and bridesmaids Joanne Kelly and Laura Cairney. Best man was Scott’s friend Fraser Yuile and ushers Scott Tripney and Graham Waugh. Jamie Kelly was flowergirl and Scott’s nephew Calum Waugh pageboy.
THE DRESS: Fiona knew she wanted a lace fishtail dress, and she bought the first dress she tried on from the first shop she visited. The bridesmaids wore lavender and white full-length gowns and the boys were in kilts.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple jetted off to Riviera Maya in Mexico for a relaxing honeymoon.
THANKS: Thanks to both sets of parents - Elaine and Steven Hainan and Shirley and David Hannah - for all their help and support in the lead up to the wedding.
