The wedding of Dianne Connal and David Thomson
THE COUPLE: Dianne is 29 and a nursing assistant at Kings Park Hospital in Stirling and David (37) is a sales executive with Phones4U. The couple live in Bridge of Allan.
HOW THEY MET: On April 15, 2010, just a few days after Dianne had bought a mobile phone from him at his shop in Stirling, the pair were on seperate nights out at the same pub, met up again and got chatting.
THE PROPOSAL: Dianne and David were pretty much an “item” from that night and over breakfast one Sunday morning in July, 2011, he got down on one knee and popped the question. After finishing her waffles and coffee Dianne said ‘yes’!
THE WEDDING: The Three Kings was the venue for the Big Day on October 19, 2013. The humanist ceremony conducted by Mary Wallace was attended by 80 guests with 70 more joining the bride and groom to celebrate in the evening. Apart from a “few hitches” - which included one of her bridesmaids breaking an ankle - it was a “fantastic” day.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Bridesmaids were Dianne’s cousin Debbie and best friends Debbie Stanfield and Karen Fisher. David’s brother, Jim, was best man and his best friends Ally Bell and Ian McLellan the ushers. The page boys were David’s nephews, Aaron and Liam Thomson and the flower girl was Zara Petrie.
THE DRESS: The bride wore a diamond white gown by Enzoani with full length Cathedral veil and diamante details.
THE HONEYMOON: The newlyweds enjoyed a blissful two weeks on the sun-kissed beaches of the Maya Riviera in Mexico.
THANKS: Special thanks to both sets of parents, all friends who attended, the staff of The Three Kings and photographer Tom Collins.
