The wedding for Claire Penman Andrew MacBeath

THE COUPLE: Claire (29) is from Bonnybridge and is a geography teacher at Larbert High School, and Andrew (30), who’s from Castlecary, works offshore for Transocean. The newlyweds live in Dennyloanhead.

HOW THEY MET: The couple met during separate nights out in Sportsters in Falkirk about three-and-a-half years ago.

THE PROPOSAL: Andrew popped the question on Easter Sunday last year, The couple were enjoying a break in Pitlochry and Andrew proposed during dinner. Although the couple had talked about getting married, Claire said that she was still surprised. Andrew had also picked out a ring which Claire loved.

THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on July 2, 2013 at The Vu in Bathgate. There were 120 guests for the service and reception. Claire said that the day went brilliantly, despite some very wet weather. A funny part of the day was when one of Andrew’s best men dropped the rings during Claire’s vows which made the couple a bit less nervous.

THE WEDDING PARTY: Claire’s bridesmaids were her friend Aileen Wallace and Claire’s cousin Lorraine Scott. Lorraine’s daughter, three-year-old Maria Scott, was the flower girl. Andrew’s best men were his brothers, Steven and Stuart, and Andrew’s two sons, Adam (6) and Ethan (5).

THE DRESS: Claire wore an Alfred Angelo strapless gown with delicate detailing.

THE HONEYMOON: The couple enjoyed six nights in Mexico followed by four nights in Las Vagas.
