The wedding of Claire Mack and Ian Bunce
THE COUPLE: Ian MacDonald Bunce (47) is originally from Dundee and works as a radio engineer as well as serving in the Army Reserve. Claire Odette Mack (37) grew up in Falkirk and works in public relations. The couple live in Larbert.
HOW THEY MET: Ian and Claire were both employees at Ofcom. They began dating in 2010.
THE ENGAGEMENT: Ian proposed by placing handwritten signs around Stirling Castle Esplanade on Mother’s Day 2012. Claire was very surprised.
THE WEDDING: The couple were married on September 21 at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh, which is the official regimental church of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. They were joined by 100 guests. The bride arrived at the kirk a little late after some car trouble when the classic Daimler picking Claire up refused to start. The reception was at the Dobbie Hall. Claire says the couple had an amazing day.
WEDDING PARTY: There were four bridesmaids – Jennifer McFeat, Kirstin Stevenson, Fiona Johnstone and Joanna Hogan. The best man was Spats Baxter. Ushers were Stuart Elliott and Alex Sloan. Claire’s children, Jasmine and Reuben, stole the show as flower girl and page boy.
THE DRESS: The bride’s wedding gown was made by Allure Bridals. Claire described it as a very simple ivory chiffon cowl neck design.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent seven days on their favourite island of Ibiza, enjoying the fabulous end of summer weather.
THANKS: Thanks to all friends and family, especially to Claire’s mum, Ian’s friends and the bridesmaids. The couple would also like to thank wedding photographer Emma Gray.
