The marriage of Carol Ann Morland and Thomas Chapman
THE COUPLE: Carol Ann, from Falkirk, is 40 and works for Falkirk Council, and Thomas (38), who’s from Jedburgh originally, is a painter and decorator. The newlyweds live in Maddiston.
HOW THEY MET: The couple met online two years ago.
THE PROPOSAL: The couple were engaged in January. They had been talking about planning a wedding and had planned to skip being engaged and just get married. But after thinking about it, Thomas decided that it would be strange to be married without getting engaged, and proposed in the kitchen one night. The ring had been designed by Carol Ann’s friend and was lovely.
THE WEDDING: The wedding took place on June 29, 2013 at Callendar House. After the date had been booked, the couple found out that Mr Bloom also had a booking there that day and feared the wedding would be a disaster. However, it all went brilliantly, and the couple, family and friends enjoyed a reception at Scott’s Bistro in Grangemouth in the evening.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Carol Ann’s bridesmaid was her best friend, Elaine Little, and the best man was Thomas’s older brother Paul. Carol Ann’s son, eight-year-old Bailey Weir, was the ring bearer and honorary usher.
THE DRESS: Carol Ann wore a satin gown with pleats. Her friend designed it for her and she thought it was very Hollywood glam.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple enjoyed a two-week holiday in Cuba and thought it was beautiful.
THANKS: Special thanks go to the couple’s family and friends, and to Scott’s Bistro in Grangemouth who couldn’t have done more for the couple.
