The wedding of Amanda Gray and Kenneth Gray
HOW THEY MET: Kenny knocked on Amanda’s mum’s door 15 years ago as a contractor out to paint some new windows. They have been together ever since.
THE PROPOSAL: Kenny asked Amanda to marry him in October 2012 while they were at home. Amanda was really surpised but quickly said “Yes”.
THE WEDDING: The couple tied the knot on December 8, 2013, at the Beancross. There were 70 guests for the service and a total of 150 at the reception. Amanda said that even the wet weather could not spoil such a brilliant day. A real highlight for the couple was a horse and carriage ride to the venue – a gift from Amanda’s parents.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Amanda’s bridesmaid was her friend Heather Paterson. Kenny’s best men were the couple’s sons, Callum (13), Cameron (8), Cieran (4) who all did fantastic jobs on the day. Callum played ‘Love Me Tender’ on the euphonium, Cameron was the usher and Cieran was the ringbearer. Daughter Evie (4) was the flowergirl.
THE DRESS: Amanda wore a pale silver gown from Olivia Cameron Bridal. The bride also wore a half cathedral-length train.
THE HONEYMOON: The newlyweds have not been on honeymoon yet, but are planning a special trip to the Artic in the winter.
THANKS: Special thanks go to Amanda’s mum and dad, Patricia and George McCandlish.
