The wedding of Alison McGrath and Frank Gandy
THE COUPLE: Alison (31) is an administrator with Balfour Beatty from Grangemouth and Frank (32) is a carpet cleaning supervisor from Bathgate. The couple live in Grangemouth with children Zacc (8) and Lacie (4 months).
HOW THEY MET: Alison and Frank have been together for 13 years after meeting through friends.
THE PROPOSAL: Frank got down on one knee on Christmas Day 11 years ago with a ring he’d chosen himself. They weren’t fussed about getting married so took their time planning their big day.
THE WEDDING: The couple were married on October 18, 2014, at The Three Kings in Wester Shieldhill. The day was perfect, although the planning was nearly scuppered by the unplanned new arrival. Alison said: “A few months before the wedding, I found out I was 29 weeks pregnant. Luckily The Three Kings took care of everything so I wasn’t rushing around planning the wedding while preparing for a new baby.”
THE WEDDING PARTY: Bridesmaid was Alison’s sister Joan Weightman and niece Bekah Weightman was flowergirl. Zacc was the page boy and Frank’s cousin Christopher Wilson the best man.
THE DRESS: Alison wore an ivory gown with pearl and Swarovski crystal details.
THE HONEYMOON: Due to the new baby, the couple didn’t get away after the wedding but are planning a family holiday next year when Lacie is a bit older.
THANKS: Thanks to The Three Kings for all their help and to Alison and Joan’s mum Sandra McGrath.
