The wedding of Allannah McBride and Colin Stevenson
HOW THEY MET: Allannah and Colin met almost 10 years ago at an under-18s disco at Bacchus nightclub. They were just 15 and have been together ever since.
THE PROPOSAL: Colin popped the question in September 2008. The couple were enjoying sightseeing in London to celebrate Allannah’s 21st birthday and were on the London Eye at its peak when Colin proposed. Allannah was surprised but delighted.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on April 26 at the Vu in Bathgate. There were 75 guests for the service and 105 in total for the reception. Allannah said that the day was perfect, with the speeches being a highlight.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Allannah’s cousin, Donna Thompson, was chief bridesmaid, and the bridesmaids were the bride’s best friends Kelly Muir and Toni Mulholland. The best man was Colin’s brother Daren, and the ushers were Colin’s best friends Scott Leask and Gary McNie. The flower girls were Niamh Thompson (3) and seven-year-old Lauren Findlay.
THE DRESS: Allannah wore a Roberto Nicolini gown called Sorrento. It was a fitted gown with diamantee detailing.
THE HONEYMOON: The newlyweds jet off to Florida on Saturday for two weeks and can’t wait.
THANKS: Thanks go to both families and to everyone who celebrated with the couple on the day. Also thanks to wedding photographer Emma Gray.
