The wedding of Georgia Giddis-Currie and Russell Nairn
THE COUPLE: Georgia is 24 and works as a sales agent for Europcar in Stirling, and Russell (29) is an HGV mechanic based in Larbert. The newlyweds live in Head of Muir.
HOW THEY MET: The couple met at a family party in December 2008 as Russell was a friend of Georgia’s cousin.
THE PROPOSAL: Russell popped the question on November 30, 2011. It was Georgia’s birthday and Russell came home with a Hunter wellies shoebox. Georgia soon discovered the box was empty – except for an engagement ring box.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held exactly a year later on November 30, 2012, at the Royal Hotel in Bridge of Allan. There were 75 guests at the service and another 100 joined the celebrations at night. The day went brilliantly and the weather was fine. Georgia said her favourite part of the day was the speeches, particularly Russell’s.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Georgia’s sister Alison Currie and best friend Yvonne Buchanan were the bridesmaids, and the best men were Russell’s brother Paul and best friend Jai Henderson. The couple’s son, Mylo (1) was the page boy.
THE DRESS: Georgia wore an ivory, A-line, strapless gown with diamante detail round the bodice.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent two days at Cameron House after the wedding but are jetting off to Las Vegas in the summer.
THANKS: Special thanks to the parents, the hotel, photographer and to everyone for their kind gifts.
