The wedding of Claire Cassells and Gordon Potter
THE COUPLE: Claire Cassells (28) and Gordon Potter (39) both from Bonnybridge.
HOW THEY MET: Claire’s dad and Gordon worked together as joiners. When Claire used to work as a nursery nurse at Maggiewoods Nursery in Falkirk, she met Gordon when he came to fit a new kitchen in the nursery.
THE PROPOSAL: The proposal took place while the couple were out for dinner. Claire described it as simple but romantic.
THE WEDDING: They were married on September 29, 2012 at St Helen’s Parish Church in Bonnybridge in front of 100 guests. A further 100 guests joined them at their evening reception in Bonnybridge Social Club. Claire said many people have said it was “the best wedding they have ever been to” and the Raggeals band were fantastic.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Claire had four bridesmaids, Sharon Morgan and Leona Maule who are her sisters and Jojo Todd and Nicola Johnstone who are friends. She also had two flower girls, Morgan Angus (4) and Sofia Potter (9 months). Gordon’s best man was friend Murdoch Smith.
THE DRESS: Claire wore a traditional Ivory gown, that she described as lovely but “not too fancy.” She would not describe herself as a girly girl.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent two weeks in Thailand where they visited the Phi Phi Islands and James Bond Island.
THANKS: The couple would like to thank their friends and family for making the wedding such a special occasion. They also greatly thank photographer Charlene Hoey, Kilsyth.
