The wedding of Ashley Bennie and Adam Ross

THE COUPLE: Ashley (27) is an early years officer while Adam (25) is a shipping agent. The couple are from Brightons and live in the village.

HOW THEY MET: Despite growing up in the same village, it took a night in the Brightons Inn in 2006 for the pair to meet.

THE PROPOSAL: Ashley received a parcel at work and opened the box to find a balloon with ‘Will you marry me?’ printed on it. Adam was waiting outside with the perfect ring.

THE WEDDING: The couple were married on August 18 at Airth Castle in front of 86 guests with a further 70 joining them at night. The day was perfect, with even the sun making a rare appearance for their big day.

THE WEDDING PARTY: Bridesmaids were Ashley’s cousins Emma Hamilton and Maia Morrison and Adam’s sisters Susan and Fiona Ross. Best man was Adam’s best friend Craig Sneddon with friends Neil Stephen, Ryan Lynas and Ashley’s cousin Kyle Wilcox as ushers. Little Ava Barron (2) was flowergirl.

THE DRESS: Ashley wore a stunning one shouldered tulle Maggie Sottero gown with a tiara and veil. The bridesmaids were in cobalt blue and the boys in kilts.

the honeymoon: The couple spent two weeks in Cancun Mexico with Ashley describing the honeymoon as ‘the ultimate luxury’.
