The wedding of Louise Rae and Dean McFarlane

HOW THEY MET: On ‘Old Firm Sunday’, January 2, 2011, they bumped into each other in a Falkirk pub and the romance began.

THE PROPOSAL: According to Louise, she was “totally surprised” when Dean proposed on Christmas Day last year. He had given her a DVD and said he was going to get the rest of her presents, before astounding her by returning with a ring.

THE WEDDING: The ceremony was held on September 17 a the Azul Sensatori Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Louise and Dean decided they wanted to have this occasion alone, then threw a big party at Beancross on September 28 when they were joined by 200 family and friends.

THE WEDDING PARTY: At the Beancross reception, Dean’s brother Lee McFarlane was best man, while Louise’s sister, Emma Rae, was bridesmaid.

THE DRESS: Louise wore a stunning La Sposa strapless ivory gown which she selected from Olivia Cameron in Laurieston. Fitted to below the hips, it had a gorgeous train.

THE HONEYMOON: The couple were married on day six of their two-week trip to Mexico, making the second week their honeymoon.

THANKS: Special thanks go to all their family and friends for joining them at the reception and to everyone at Beancross for making it such a wonderful evening for them.
