The wedding of Lisa Holmes and Richard Dawkins
THE COUPLE: Lisa is 32, from Falkirk, and works at Sky in Livingston, and Richard (35), who is from Lincoln originally, is a labourer with RJ McLeod. The couple live in Brightons.
HOW THEY MET: The couple first got together when they were teenagers but split up when they were still very young. In 2010, Lisa looked him up and they got back together.
THE PROPOSAL: Richard popped the question on bended knee to a very surprised Lisa during a weekend away in September 2010. They later picked out a ring together.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on June 23, 2012. The service took place at Wallacestone Methodist Church in front of 75 guests, and a total of 120 friends and family joined the couple at Falkirk Football Stadium in the evening. Lisa said it was a great day, and something the couple should have done years ago.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Lisa’s bridesmaids were her eldest daughter Danielle (13), and Richard’s sister Eve Dawkins. The flower girls were Lisa’s niece Stephanie (11), Lisa’s daughter Amy (2) and the couple’s five-month-old daughter Melissa. The page boys were Lisa’s son Sam (4) and her nephew Steven (6). The best man was Richard’s best friend Ross McArthur.
THE DRESS: Lisa loved her strapless dress which she bought from a shop in Dalgety Bay.
THE HONEYMOON: The newlyweds spent a week in a log cabin in Fife.
