The birth of Rose Mary McCallum

THE DETAILS: Rose Mary McCallum came into the world at 11.34 a.m. on November 4, 2014 at Forth Valley Royal Hospital weighing in at 6lb 6oz.

THE PARENTS: Mum Joanne McCallum (28) comes from Falkirk and is a quality controller for Repsol in Edinburgh. Dad Robbie McCallum (34) comes from Falkirk and works as a business analyst. The couple live in Reddingmuirhead and Rose is their first child.

THE PREGNANCY: Joanne kept in good health all the way through her pregnancy and had no complaints when it came to carrying Rose.

THE BIRTH: Two weeks before her due date, Joanne was told Rose was breech. A week later she and Robbie attended Forth Valley Royal and she gave birth through Caesarean section. This meant Rose was born on the same day both her granddads celebrate their birthdays.

THE BABY: Rose is a happy and contented wee baby and Joanne and Robbie are now getting into a routine with her.

THE NAME: Rose was the only
girl’s name both Joanne and Robbie could agree on, while Mary is the name of Robbie’s grandmother.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Rose is the first grandchild for both Kate and John MacDonald, of Laurieston, and Myra and Duncan McCallum, of Polmont.

THANKS: Joanne and Robbie thank Rose’s grandparents for being absolutely amazing, their friends and family for their generosity and kindness and also the excellent Poppy team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
