The birth of Nico Weston
THE PARENTS: Mum Sophie (30) is a resourcer in Falkirk and dad Mark (30) works in customer services for Arco in Linlithgow. Nico is the couple’s second baby and the family lives in Reddingmuirhead.
THE PREGNANCY: The pregnancy was okay, but Sophie was quite sick at the start.
THE BIRTH: Nico was nine days early. Medics decided to induce Sophie as they were worried about the baby’s growth. But all was well after a quick four-hour labour.
THE BABY: Nico is a very content baby, who is getting bigger every day. He is doted on by his older brother Parker (2). Parker refers to Nico as “my treasure, my honey”.
THE NAME: Both Sophie and Mark really liked the name Nico. It stands for ‘victory for the people’, and it struck a chord with the couple who both backed the independence campaign.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Nico is a fourth grandchild for Lorraine Weston and the late Joe Weston of Stenhousemuir. He is also a second for Ronnie Parker and the late Jacqueline Parker of Maddiston.
THANKS: The maternity staff at the hospital and friends and family.
