The birth of Milena Elizabeth Clark

THE DETAILS: Milena Elizabeth Clark was born at 12.29 a.m. on December 22, 2014 at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert weighing 7lbs 6oz.

THE PARENTS: Mum Kirsti Walker (25), from Sheildhill, is a reporter for STV news, while dad Christopher Clark (26), from Cumbernauld, is a service engineer. The couple live in Carron and Milena is their first child.

THE PREGNANCY: Kirsti endured back pain for most of the pregnancy due to being quite small and carrying a “massive bump”.

THE BIRTH: Milena’s heartbeat became erratic and, after 20 hours of labour, she came into the world via an emergency Caesarean section.

THE BABY: Milena has put on two pounds in just six weeks, is very alert and is sleeping very well.

THE NAME: Kirsti and Christopher researched the name Milena, which originates from the Czech Republic and is often shortened to Mila. Elizabeth is the name of Kirsti and Christopher’s grans.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Milena is the first grandchild of Fiona and Craig Binnie and Andrew and Lourdes Walker of Shieldhill, Margaret Johnson of Moodiesburn and Christine and Billy Clark of Truro, Cornwall.

THANKS: Kirsti thanks Milena’s godmother Laura Duchart who has helped the family greatly before and after the birth.
