THE DETAILS: Lucy Twycross was born at 7.24 p.m. on Friday, January 2, at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert, weighing 8lb 13.5oz.

THE PARENTS: Proud mum Kirsty Myles (28) works in sales with Sky TV and dad Gordon Twycross (41) is a recruitment consultant for British Gas. Lucy is their first child and the family lives in Nursery Road, Falkirk.

THE PREGNANCY: Despite suffering from morning sickness for the first 18 weeks, Kirsty says the rest of the nine months were all straightforward!

THE BIRTH: Kirsty was admitted on the afternoon of December 30 and induced at 10.30 p.m. that night - but Lucy was not ready to be welcomed into the world until three days later.

THE BABY: Because of an infection, Lucy was not allowed home until January 29 but since then has been absolutely fine. Kirsty said: “She’s just perfect, eats well, sleeps well and is always very content.”

THE NAME: Kirsty and Gordon had agreed in advance if they had a girl she would be named Lucy.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Lucy is the first grandaughter for Elizabeth and Lindsay Twycross from Coatbridge who already have a grandson, but the first grandchild for Eleanor and Ian Myles of Hallglen.

THANKS: The couple would like to say a special ‘thank you’ to everyone at Forth Valley Royal, especially those involved in Lucy’s care during the time she spent in the neo-natal ward.
