THE PARENTS: Mum Deborah (31) is a medical secretary with the NHS and dad Ryan (32) is a wood machinist. The family lives in Falkirk.

THE PREGNANCY: Deborah had a great pregnancy with no complaints.

THE BIRTH: Deborah was admitted to hospital with high blood pressure and went into labour soon after. There were some difficulties and Lucas was born by Caesarian section. The family was allowed home on Christmas Eve. Deborah said: “It meant the day was a bit of a panic but I’m so happy we got to be at home for our first family Christmas.’

THE NAME: Deborah liked the name Lloyd and Ryan preferred Lucas, when he arrived the couple decided he looked more like a Lucas.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Lucas is the first grandchild of gran Mary-Anne and grandad Derek Cox of Falkirk and papa Thomas and granny Allison Rankin, also of Falkirk.

THE BABY: Lucas is a happy, content baby who is sleeping well and loves giving smiles. Debrah said: “He may only be weeks old, but you can tell already he’s going to be a cheeky wee boy.”

THANKS: Thanks to both sets of grandparents, Auntie Leanne, Auntie Nicola and Uncle Greig and Auntie Lauren. Thanks also to the Bluebell midwife team and Deborah wishes to thank Ryan for being such a hands-on dad when she was poorly immediately after the birth.
