The birth of Lewis Webster
THE DETAILS: Lewis Webster was born at 12.08 a.m. on November 30, 2013, at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, weighing 5 lb 14 oz.
THE PARENTS: Mum Lyndsey (32) is a sales assistant with Farmfoods and dad Stuart (33) is a postman. The family lives in Falkirk.
THE PREGNANCY: Lyndsey had a great pregnancy with no problems.
THE BIRTH: Lewis decided to make an appearance three weeks early. Lyndsey had just finished her shift at Farmfoods and went to The Goose pub with Stuart. On her second can of Irn Bru, her waters broke and the couple’s evening out was cut short. Lyndsey said: “We had to rush up to the hospital, with me still in my Farmfoods uniform. My waters went at 9.45 p.m. and Lewis arrived just after midnight so it was a very fast labour. Stuart had to call my work and tell them I wouldn’t be in the next day for what was supposed to be my last shift.”
THE BABY: Lewis is a very contented baby who sleeps well and loves cuddles.
THE NAME: The couple could not pick a name and had no idea what to call their first child. But once he arrived Stuart thought he looked like a Lewis and Lyndsey agreed.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Lewis is the third grandchild for Mary and Alastair Brough of Falkirk and the fourth for Colin and Elizabeth Webster, also of Falkirk.
THANKS: Thanks to the midwives at Forth Valley Royal Hospital and to Stuart for remaining calm despite Lewis’s speedy birth.
