The birth of Jamie Gordon Steven Smith
THE PARENTS: Mum Laura (33) works on the pharmacy counter at Tesco in Falkirk’s Central Retail Park. Dad Gordon (36) is a porter at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert. Jamie is the couple’s first son and a wee brother for Hayley (7) and Lia (5). The family live in Aven Drive, Laurieston.
THE PREGNANCY: Laura said: “There was a lot of morning sickness and backache and a very different experience from carrying the girls, but I put that down to the fact this time it was a boy.”
THE BIRTH: Jamie was 12 days late, so Laura was advised she was going into hospital to have her baby on October 24. The baby was delivered with no problems nine hours later.
THE BABY: Mum says: “Jamie is a really contented wee soul, just all we could have hoped for. He eats and sleeps well, already put on weight and absolutely ruined by his big sisters who think he’s just wonderful.”
THE NAME: Mum and dad agreed their first son would be called Jamie. The Gordon is after his dad and the Steven after Laura’s dad.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Jamie is the third grandchild for Laura’s parents Lynn and Steven Addison, who happen to live right next door in Aven Drive, and the seventh for Gordon’s mum and dad Billy and Linda.
THANKS: Special thanks to Laura’s parents, Auntie Sarah and the Poppy team at Forth Valley Royal.
