The birth of Jake Ross Archibald

THE DETAILS: Jake Ross Archibald was born at 6.40 p.m. on November 26, 2013, at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, weighing 9lb 1oz.

THE PARENTS: Mum Gillian Archibald is 26 and works as a purchase ledger clerk in Larbert, and dad Andrew Archibald is 28 and a hydraulics engineer in Broxburn. Jake is the couple’s first baby and the family live in Carronshore.

THE PREGNANCY: Gillian’s pregnancy was fine. She didn’t have any morning sickness, but did suffer a fair bit of discomfort towards the end.

THE BIRTH: Baby Archibald was a week late. Gillian went into labour naturally but after 18 hours, hospital staff decided to deliver the baby by section. Mum and baby got home two days later.

THE BABY: Jake is a really good, alert baby. He has slept through the night since he was three weeks old. He’s also at a great age as he is starting to recognise people and voices. He also enjoys being in his baby gym where he has a little piano and enjoys the noises. He is also a very good eater.

THE NAME: ‘Jake’ was the boy’s name that both Gillian and Andrew had agreed on. ‘Ross’ is Gillian’s maiden name.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Jake is a second grandchild for Charlie and Helen Ross of Stenhousemuir and a third for Allan and Francis Archibald, also of Stenhousemuir.

THANKS: The new parents would like to say a special thank-you to the Bluebell team at Forth Valley Royal, and to all their family and friends for their support, gifts and best wishes.
