The birth of Isla Rose Hastie
THE PARENTS: Mum Sharon is 28 and a credit controller based in Larbert, and dad David (31) works as a property accountant in Edinburgh. Isla is the couple’s first baby and the family live in Larbert.
THE PREGNANCY: Sharon’s pregnancy was fine, and she had no problems at all.
THE BIRTH: Baby Isla was 12 days early. Sharon went into labour naturally at home and the baby was born in the birthing pool. Sharon said she was only in labour for a few hours, and everything went well. Dad was there and was very supportive.
THE BABY: Isla is a very active baby who doesn’t really like to sleep. Her parents have no idea where she gets the energy. She has a great appetite and loves to tell herself wee stories. She likes lying on her play mat and enjoys an occasional bit of TV. Mum also thinks she may have her first teeth coming in.
THE NAME: Sharon said that she really liked both ‘Isla’ and ‘Rose’ and thought they went really nicely together. The couple found out that they were having a girl so had time to pick out the names they liked best.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Isla is a first grandchild for Elizabeth and Bob Plant of Stenhousemuir, and a second for Gillian Hastie of Bo’ness.
THANKS: Many thanks to all family and friends for all the cards, gifts, and best wishes.
