Baby of the week: Fia Paterson

THE DETAILS: Fia Patterson was born on December 14, 2014, weighing 7lb 6oz at Forth Valley Royal Hospital at 11.25 p.m.

THE PARENTS: Mum Angela is 28 and works as a midwife at Forth Valley Royal in Larbert. Dad David is from Falkirk and works in the off-shore oil industry. Fia is the couple’s first child and the family lives in Edinburgh.

THE PREGNANCY: Angela said she experienced no problems during the pregnancy.

THE BIRTH: Baby Fia arrived six days early. Angela, who is used to dealing with other people’s births through her job, described her own as “textbook”.

THE BABY: Fia is a happy child who has began smiling and enjoys playing. Angela said she is a “very hungry” baby.

THE NAME: The couple first saw the name Fia online and liked it, then later found it again in a baby book.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Fia is a second grandchild and first granddaughter for Anne and Alistair Gilbert of Edinburgh and a first for William and Morag Patterson of Falkirk.
