The birth of Callan Alexander Wilson
THE DETAILS: Callan Alexander Wilson arrived 12 days late at 4.50 p.m. on Monday, May 12, in Forth Valley Royal. He weighed a healthy 9lb 3oz.
THE PARENTS: Mum, Gayle (28) is a project worker with the Falkirk Family Support Unit in Camelon and dad, Steven (29), drives forklift trucks for Norbert Dentressangle in Bainsford. Callan Alexander is the couple’s first child. The family lives in McLachlan Street Street, Stenhousemuir.
THE PREGNANCY: Gayle enjoyed a trouble-free nine and a bit months. Morning sickness at the start apart, she admits she “kept really well.”
THE BIRTH: Gayle was admitted on the Sunday. At 2 p.m. she was induced and the contractions started a few hours later. But, Callan Alexander was in no hurry and was delivered by emergency section at 4.50 p.m. the next day. Gayle admits: “Because of the way he was lying it wasn’t the most comfortable experience. I was absolutely exhausted!”
THE BABY: Gayle said: “He’s already settled into a great routine of sleeping and feeding and been no bother at all. He is a really content little boy.”
THE NAME: Callan, the Gaelic name for Colin, is after Gayle’s dad while the name Alexander has been in Gayle’s family for three generations.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Callan Alexander is a second grandchild for Gayle’s parents Colin and Eileen Campbell and the sixth for Steven’s dad, Andrew. Steven’s mum, Patricia, sadly died a few years ago.
THANKS: Gayle and Steven would like to thank both sets of parents and the Bluebell Team at FVRH.
