Baby of the Week: Blake Thomson

Blake Thomson
Blake Thomson

The birth of Blake Thomson

THE DETAILS: Blake Thomson was born at Forth Valley Royal Hospital weighing 8lb 1oz on June 23, 2014 at 6.04 a.m.

THE PARENTS: Mum Dawn (38) is a dental hygienist based in Bannockburn, and dad Alex (39) works with Alexander Dennis coach builders in Camelon. Blake is the couple’s second child and the family live in Reddingmuirhead.

THE PREGNANCY: Dawn said that the pregnancy was fine and went by quite quickly. She said she was a little more tired this time round.

THE BIRTH: Baby Blake was four days early. Dawn went into labour at 1 a.m., was in the hospital for 3 a.m. and baby was born in the birthing pool at 6 a.m. Dad Alex was there and was very helpful, and the family got to go home that night.

THE BABY: Dawn says that Blake is a great little baby who is very content. Blake only really makes a noise when he’s hungry. He sleeps well but still gets up for a few feeds in the night. His biggest fan is his proud sister, six-year-old Jessica, who thinks he is “so adorable”.

THE NAME: ‘Blake’ was a name that both Dawn and Alex liked. Although they didn’t know for sure, they did suspect they were having a boy.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Blake is a first grandson for Andy and Sandra Nelson of Polmont, and a second grandson for Jim and Grace Thomson also of Polmont.

THANKS: Special thanks go to the Poppy team at FVRH and to all the couple’s friends and family.
