THE DETAILS: Amy was born on November 12 at 10.57am weighing 7lb 7oz at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital.
THE PARENTS: Sheila Muir (38) and John Mackie (40) live near Aberdeen but are both originally from Grahamston and Camelon. Sheila is a ward assistant at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and John is an engineer. Sheila has also has a ten-year-old daughter, Kristen.
THE PREGNANCY: Sheila said the pregnancy was straightforward and there were no issues at all.
THE BIRTH: The labour went to plan and at four hours was fairly quick. Both mum and baby were happy and healthy and were able to go home after one night in hospital.
THE BABY: Amy is thriving and big sister, Kristen has adapted to her role very well.
THE NAME: Kristen liked the name Amy but John wasn’t too keen to begin with, as it reminded him of Amy Winehouse! But he came around to the idea when Sheila gave him a list to choose from in hospital because he had only thought of boys names. Josie is in memory of John’s grandmother who sadly passed away in August last year.
THANKS: Sheila wanted to thank her and John’s parents; Anne Muir, Tricia and Jimmy Mackie and John Muir and his partner Janice for their help.
