The birth of Abbie Rose Burnett

THE DETAILS: Abbie Rose Burnett was born on February 1 at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert at 5.14 a.m. weighing 7lb 4oz.

THE PARENTS: Mum Ann is 34 and an engineering administrator in Grangemouth while dad Richard (42) is a process operator at Ineos. Abbie is the couple’s first baby and the family live in Lionthorn.

THE PREGNANCY: Ann said her pregnancy was plain sailing. Apart from the first 12 weeks of normal morning sickness there were no problems overall.

THE BIRTH: Baby Burnett was two weeks’ late. Ann was induced in hospital when the baby was 12 days overdue, but, two days later, the delivery was by Caesarean section. Both mum and baby were fine afterwards and dad was there to help.

THE BABY: Abbie is a great little baby. She is sleeping all night long, eating very well and seems to love absolutely everyone as she always has big smiles.

THE NAME: Ann and Richard loved the name Abbie right from the start and was the only girl’s name they had picked out. Rose is after Ann’s nanna.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Abbie is a grandchild for Jacqueline and Peter Hammond of Grangemouth, Ray and Charles Murray of Falkirk, and Allan and Mary Burnett of Linlithgow.

THANKS: Ann and Richard would like to say a special thank you to the staff and midwives at the hospital. Also many thanks for all the gifts, cards and good wishes from family and friends.
