The birth of Harrison Beaton Ure
THE PARENTS: Mum Kirsty is 27 and a reporter with The Falkirk Herald, while dad Andy (28) works for a civil engineering firm. Harrison is the couple’s first baby and the family live in Falkirk.
THE PREGNANCY: The pregnancy was relatively straightforward with just the usual symptoms and complaints of sickness. Kirsty also felt huge towards the end of the pregnancy.
THE BIRTH: Kirsty’s waters broke eight days after her due date, with Baby Harrison finally arriving two days later following a 21-hour labour. Everyone was surprised by his size as he wasn’t expected to be a big baby.
THE BABY: Harrison is a smiley, happy baby who loves being the centre of attention. He much prefers to look at the ceiling lights rather than his many toys.
THE NAME: Kirsty and Andy liked the name Harrison before they found out they were expecting and it’s fitting as Andy is a big Beatles fan. Beaton is Kirsty’s maiden name.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Harrison is a first grandchild for Linda and Alasdair Beaton of Slamannan and a third for Derek and Diane Ure of Polmont.
THANKS: Harrison’s mum and dad wish to thank the midwives and doctors at Forth Valley Royal Hospital for the excellent care and attention they received and to all family and friends for their kind gifts.
