The birth of Joey James McQuade
The details: Joey McQuade was born in Forth Valley Royal Hospital on April 29 at 10.25 p.m. weighing 6lb 4oz.
The parents: Mum Katie McManus (23) is a support worker from Grangemouth, and dad Connor McQuade (25), from Redding, is an instrument technician with Syngenta.
The pregnancy: It was fine for Katie during the nine months, apart from a bit of morning sickness at the start.
The birth: Joey decided to arrive a week before his due date and that’s when things got a bit “scary”, particularly when it was discovered the cord was round baby’s neck. However, he was safely delivered with the help of forceps.
The baby: Mum said he is a very good baby, especially as he has just started sleeping through the night. Content, he only cries when he wants fed.
The names: Joey is after both Connor’s granddads who are Joseph, while James is after Katie’s dad.
The grandparents: He is the first grandchild for Hugh and Lynda McQuade of Redding and the third for James McManus of Grange
Thanks: Special thanks to all family for their support and to maternity staff.
