The birth of Jude Paul McPherson

THE DETAILS: Jude Paul McPherson was born in Forth Valley Royal Hospital on September 7, 2014, at 2.03 a.m. weighing 6lbs 10oz.

THE PARENTS: Mum Paula Harvey (35) is a pharmacist and dad Dean McPherson (36) is an area manager for the bookmakers chain Ladbrokes. The couple live in Reddingmuirhead and little Jude is their first child.

THE PREGNANCY: Carrying Jude around for nine months was no trouble at all for Paula, who had a lot of help from the Lazy Daisy birth class - “I would recommend them to anyone,” she said.

THE BIRTH: The birth went as smoothly as the pregnancy with the couple heading into hospital at 10 p.m. and Jude making his appearance just after 2 a.m. Paula was fine but admitted Dean seemed to be a “bit traumatised”.

THE NAME: Jude was a name the couple both liked and the only name they had decided on for a boy. Paul is a family name.

THE BABY: Described as a good little baby, Jude has now settled into a routine which sees him sleeping five hours a night and waking up happy and contented.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Jude is the first grandchild for Tommy and Irene Harvey of Redding and the third grandchild for John and Linda McPherson of Falkirk.

THANKS: Paula and Dean thanked Jacqueline Traynor from the Lazy Daisy birth class, who has helped them before and after the birth, the Poppy team at FVRH and both their families.
