The wedding of Danna McDaid and Colin Smith
THE COUPLE: Danna McDaid is 26 and a mobile beauty therapist from Edinburgh, while Colin Smith is 31 and a buyer in Dunfermline. Colin is originally from Larbert and the newlyweds live in Falkirk.
HOW THEY MET: Danna was on a night out at Behind the Wall in Falkirk when she spotted Colin working behind the bar.
THE PROPOSAL: Danna and Colin had talked about getting married, but she still got a lovely surprise a few years ago when Colin gave the ring box to their then 10-month-old daughter, Gracie, who crawled over to her with it.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on April 29 in Cyprus with 16 adults and two children there. The day went perfectly apart from the fact that the wedding was nearly cancelled because the bride was 15 minutes late!
THE WEDDING PARTY: The witnesses were Lesley Hendry and Iain Smith, Colin’s sister and father, and Colin’s friend Scott Chalmers presented the rings.
THE DRESS: Danna’s dress was a white strapless gown with an empire line and tiers floating down.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple are hoping to go on honeymoon sometime in the future.
THANKS: Special thanks go to Colin’s parents, Elizabeth and Iain Smith, and to Lesley Hendry who did a great job with the photographs while being heavily pregnant. Thanks also go to all family and friends who made the effort to attend the wedding and to Colin’s grandmother Grace Crawford, who passed away in March, for being such a positive influence in his life.
