The wedding of Shirley Donnelly and John Mrozs
THE COUPLE: Shirley Donnelly is 36 and a home carer in the Braes, while John Mrozs is 40 and car valetter in Stirling. The couple are originally from Alloa but now live in Standburn.
HOW THEY MET: Shirley and John grew up together and have known each other since they were children.
THE PROPOSAL: The pair decided to get married a few years ago and Shirley picked out a beautiful ring.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held in the Grange Manor on May 21. Around 70 guests attended the ceremony and over 40 more guests joined the couple for the evening reception.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Shirley’s chief bridesmaid was Lyn Callaghan, and the bridesmaids were her nieces Chelsea McAlpine and Kaylee Hastings, Shirley’s daughter Carey Conry, John’s niece Alisha Taylor and the flower girl was Anna Peretto. John’s best man was his dad, Joseph Mrozs, and his ushers were Arron Bates and Dean Taylor. The page boys were Ewan and Cameron Hastings, and Rhys Mrozs.
THE DRESS: Shirley’s dress was from the Enchanted Room and was an off-white strapless gown with a long train which had rose detail.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple’s honeymoon to Dominican Republic didn’t get off to a flyer when the dates were mixed up and the newly-weds realised they had missed their flight. They flew out later same week, but they still had a fantastic time.
THANKS: Special thanks go to Shirley’s bridesmaids and to Jean and Robert Callaghan who made the invitations and who helped the bride and bridesmaids on the day.
