The birth of Elli-Anne Paterson
THE DETAILS: Elli-Anne Paterson was born at 10.24 a.m. on May 10 at Stirling Royal Infirmary weighing 4lb 14oz.
THE PARENTS: Mum Ashleigh Paterson is 24. She works as a hairdresser in Bainsford and lives in Westquarter. Elli-Anne is her first baby.
THE PREGNANCY: Ashleigh said that her pregnancy was great and she felt brilliant throughout. She enjoyed the whole experience, although she had a bit of sickness and high blood pressure from 30 weeks.
THE BIRTH: Little Elli-Anne was one week early. Ashleigh started experiencing contractions at 2 p.m. on the Monday but, by the early hours on Tuesday, everything had stopped. The medical team at Stirling Royal broke her waters but it was decided that the baby should be delivered by emergency section as things were not progressing. Both mum and baby were well afterwards.
THE BABY: Elli-Anne is a very happy and alert little baby. She watches everything that’s going on around her and she gabbles away to herself. She sleeps through the night most nights and has big smiles for family and friends.
THE NAME: Ashleigh really liked the name Elli, but she always wanted her daughter’s name to include the Anne, which is after her great gran.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Elli-Anne’s grandparents are Julie and Davie Paterson from Westquarter. She also has a great grandad, Harry Brown, and aunt Lynette Paterson.
THANKS: Special thanks go to the grandparents, Julie and Davie for their help and support.
