First session free at Falkirk Autistic Bairns club

A Falkirk group supporting autistic children is offering families a free first session as it looks to encourage new members to sign up.

Falkirk Autistic Bairns, known as FAB, has announced that any family attending for the first time will not be charged for their initial visit, giving parents and children the chance to see if the club fits before making any longer commitment.

Running every Sunday from 1pm to 3pm at Elgin Place, Oswald Street, Falkirk, new attendees will be asked to complete a membership form on their first day, so the club can hold contact details and relevant health information.

There’s no need to book, parents and children can head along and join the fun and games. Activities include arts and crafts, ball games, quizzes and plenty more. Hot drinks for adults remain £1.

Recognising that signing up to a regular weekly club can feel like a big step, the group has sought to reassure families unsure of how their child will respond to a new environment.

FAB posted on social media: “We’re implementing this new system for those who are wondering if FAB is right for their child.

"We know right now it’s scary to commit to a financial charge for something that you don’t know will fit your child’s needs. This way you can see how your child feels at FAB without pressure to commit to something weekly.”

The free offer is in place for the remainder of the block with parents encouraged to pop along while the opportunity is available.
