The 21-year-old developed an eating disorder when she was just a teenager, and
recently launched her appeal to raise funds for Beat and, so far, Abbie has raised over £400.

On Friday February 23 we showed Abbie getting her hair shaved at Breen’s Hair, Redding on our Facebook page.

Abbie’s Mum, Lynn McLean, said: “I think I’m more nervous than Abbie is but so incredibly proud of her too.
“When Abbie gets something in her head, she’s got to carry it through.”
With an incredible amount chopped off her locks, Abbie amazed her family and friends with her dedication to the cause.
Abbie said after her haircut: “I think it might take a while to hit me that I don’t have hair anymore but I know its for a great cause.”

Abbie has raised money for Beat charity through her Just Giving page after she developed an eating disorder as a teenager.

She said: “I wanted to show my gratitude for Beat and support a charity that has helped me over the years.”

This year, Beat charity will focus on the time between the symptoms of an eating disorder starting and people seeking treatment with the theme, #WhyWait.
