Finewood Doors staff made the donation to the palliative and end-of-life care charity after raising the total by placing a giant dog settee in their showroom and inviting customers to share a selfie with the stuffed pooch.
Dozens of people then dropped a donation into a collection bucket in aid of the Denny-based organisation after ‘sharing a hug with Big Dug’.
Claire MacDonald, business development fundraiser at Strathcarron Hospice, was invited along to Finewood Doors’ Middlefield Industrial Estate premises to collect the cheque from managing director Willie Anderson.
The pair were joined in their photo call by a Finewood Door employee’s pet pup, two-year-old golden retriever Jax.
Strathcarron Hospice provides specialist palliative care and expert end-of-life care for the people of Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.
The service cares for those with incurable illnesses including cancer, lung, heart or kidney failure and a range of non-malignant and neurological diseases.
