Falkirk bridal store owner braves harsh weather to hand deliver dresses

The treacherous snow was no match for Nicola Ure, owner of KC Bridal Specialists, as she hand delivered two wedding dresses to brides-to-be yesterday.

Nicola braved the severe weather in order to make sure the two brides weren’t left disappointed on their big day.

The shop, located at 26 Cow Wynd, Falkirk, was closed due to bad weather but Nicola managed to get to stranded brides in Denny and Bo’ness with her Jeep.

She said: “They had both contacted me in the morning to say they were struggling to get to the shop.

“I didn’t want to disappoint them, so I decided to pack up the dresses and the only option would be to deliver them myself.

The ‘beast from the east’ however, was still in full force as Nicola got stuck between her two deliveries.

“We ended up getting stuck up a hill on our way to Bo’ness from Denny.

“People soon came to our rescue though and helped to shovel us out. It’s great to see the community pulling together.”

Nicola’s incredible gesture meant that the two brides, set to get married this weekend, had one less weather-related worry.

Nicola said: “People spend so much money on their weddings and the thought of the two lovely brides not receiving their dresses in time due to weather isn’t fair.

“It’s nice to know I’ve fulfilled my service and they can enjoy their day.”
