When you enjoy moving house regularly, it takes a special property to keep you happy for 16 years.

Alan and Martha Whittington have enjoyed living at Moonstone Maison in Brightons since 2000.

They say the highlights of this three-bedroom house are its large rooms, its versatile layout and the stunning views from the back balcony.

Mrs Whittington said: “My husband would say that my hobby is moving house, so we’ve stayed quite a long time.

“We bought it from a builder who built it for himself, so it was already a good-spec house that we just updated.

“I really like that there are double doors between the main living areas, meaning you can open it all right up. It’s a very sociable house.

“The views from the balcony are spectacular. “You can see over the river and to the Ochils. That’s one of the things we will miss most.”

This property is a little deceptive from the outside, giving the impression of a small cottage.

But behind the doors lies a entrance porch, a large reception hall, a 20-foot lounge, a huge and stylish kitchen diner and a luxury family bathroom.

Downstairs awaits a cosy family room, the conservatory with access to the garden, bedrooms, including the master, and a utility.

Mrs Whittington added: “It’s homely, versatile and the views are spectacular.

“We’ve had people come to the front door and they can see right through the house and out to the view, and they are amazed.

“It’s a very nice place to live and in a neighbourhood that’s very friendly and everyone helps each other.”

Outside, there’s ample parking space, a garage and a mature garden to enjoy.
