
THE PARENTS: Mum Cheryl Mckenzie (36), is a nursing assistant at Stirling Community Hospital, while dad Barry Shaw (35), is a self employed painter and decorator. The couple live in Banknock and Thomas is their first child.
THE PREGNANCY: Cheryl said the pregnancy was fine in itself up until 30 weeks when she had gestational diabetes.
THE BIRTH: Mum Cheryl said the birth itself was “a bit difficult” and she ended up having an emergency c-section. Thomas was born a week and a half early.
THE BABY: Thomas is quite a good baby and cries when he’s hungry. Cheryl said he likes his food like his dad.

THE NAME: Thomas is named after Barry’s dad. His middle name John is after Cheryl’s dad, who passed away four years ago.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Thomas’ grandparents are Jacqueline Mckenzie and Thomas and Isobel Shaw.
THANKS: The couple would like to thank Cheryl’s twin sister Claire who was with her through the whole labour as well as Barry. They’d also like to thank all the midwives at the maternity unit.
