Arlo Bateman

Arlo Alyn Bateman was born on August 21, 2017 at Forth Valley Hospital, at 4.31pm, weighing 8lbs 11oz.

THE PARENTS: Mum Kimberly Bateman (31), is a secondary school teacher, while dad Alyn Bateman (33) is a personal banker with Santander. Arlo has a big sister Zuri (4), and the family live in Stenhousemuir.

THE PREGNANCY: Kimberley had the usual morning sickness to begin with but it subsided at about 15 weeks. She said it was “pretty plain sailing” after that until the final trimester when the breathlessness kicked in and simple tasks became difficult.

THE BIRTH: Arlo was born by a planned section a week early.

THE BABY: Arlo is a happy wee boy with an infectious smile.

THE NAME: The couple found the name online. They wanted a name that was a bit unusual, as with his big sister being Zuri, a normal name wouldn’t work. Arlo was a name that they both liked.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Arlo is the first grandson on both sides and his grandparents are all delighted.

THANKS: Kimberly would like to thank her husband Alyn forremaining so calm and keeping her nerves in check. The couple would also like to thank Zuri for being the best big sister in the world.
