Nostalgia 1994:Till skills add up for Tamfourhill woman

Fiona (18) of Carradale Avenue, Tamfourhill, has just reached the semi-final of the Checkout Assistant of the Year contest run by a leading food and drink magazine.

Now she has the chance of a trip to the Savoy Hotel in London and a £1000 prize.

Student Fiona who works nights at Falkirk’s Newcarron Co-op said: ‘‘I’m really surprised.

‘‘I must have been nominated by one of my supervisors.

‘‘I was given an application form so I filled it in and sent it away.

‘‘I did not think anything would come of it.’’

Fiona studies by day for a BA in accounting degree at Stirling University.
