The squadron, which meets at its premises in Bellsmeadow, is the largest ATC squadron in the area. Operating continuously since 1941, it has played a part in shaping the lives of many local young people over the years and has taught them many valuable skills.

In October 2015 the Squadron were pleased to accept a cheque for £350 from Squadron Leader Brian McCottor on behalf of W.L Gore and Associates. The donation helped purchase more white belts and gloves to allow the majority of the squadron to participate in ceremonial duties during Remembrance activities and the Air Training Corps 75th anniversary celebrations.
