Nostalgia 1997: Falkirk Boots employee is much more than a pretty face!

Falkirk’s Shona Main has been awarded the title of Boots National Consultant of the Year.

Shona (25) of Wallacestone was put forward by Boots’ Falkirk branch to compete with 4400 applicants from across the country.

After winning the Scottish heat Shona was then sent to England to battle against 18 finalists for the national title.

Each was interviewed and then had to give a presentation on a topic relevant to their field.

A former pupil of Graeme High School, Shona was presented with her award last Friday.

Frances Kerr, supervisor at the Falkirk store, said: ‘‘You can only imagine how proud we are of her.

‘‘I suppose I’m a bit biased but we knew that Shona would win.

‘‘She wasn’t to come back if she didn’t!’’

Shona also won £2000 in holiday voucers and £1000 spending money.

‘‘I am looking through the holiday brochures,’’ said Shona.
