Nostalgia 1996: Polmont youngster is game for a challenge

Alan Costello has designs on the world of video games – at the tender age of seven!

The Polmont youngster has just won a top prize in a national competition to design a computer game.

The contest, organised by CDi magazine, asked budding games buffs to come up with an idea for a new and exciting blockbuster title for the Philips CDi games system.

Alan’s entry – Tutenkhamen’s Treasure Hunt – was inspired by an Egyptian project he’d been studying with his Primary Three classmates at St Margaret’s Primary School in Polmont.

The object of his game is to rescue Tutenkhamen’s treasure from the pyramids before grave robbers and mummies get it.

He scooped ten games of his choice and a control pad for his computer.
