Margaret F. Joiner of Balfour Crescent, Larbert, has a special engagement next Wednesday.

In fact, it could be classed as a VERY special engagement for on that afternoon she will attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace.

Margaret is one of the lucky Red Cross Cadet Officers selected to meet the Queen and Prince Philip as part of the Red Cross centenary celebrations.

Margaret, known as Greta to her close friends, has been associated with the Red Cross for over 20 years and this honour could be regarded as recognition of her services to the community.

After receiving the invitation she said: “I’m very excited at the whole thing. It’s a pity only a limited number can make the trip as there are others more deserving than I am.”
